Main Article Content
Abstract
Digital transformation has changed the fundamental social structure of Indonesian society. This study analyzes the impact of computer technology and information systems on social interaction patterns, mental health, and cultural dynamics using a literature review method. Based on empirical data from APJII and various academic studies, this research identifies that even though internet penetration reached 79.5% in 2024 (221.5 million users), there are significant positive and negative impacts. Positive impacts include a communication revolution, increased life efficiency, and democratization of education. Negative impacts include the degradation of face-to-face social interaction, rising mental health issues (63.9% of teenagers experiencing moderate depression with a significant correlation to social media addiction p=0.000), teenagers using social media more than three hours a day being at high risk, as well as the digital divide with the Indonesian Digital Society Index at 43.18. Research recommends a holistic approach through digital literacy, proper regulation, and evenly distributed infrastructure in three phases (2025-2030) to optimize the benefits of technology while mitigating its negative impacts. This study aims to observe the impact of digital transformation on the social life of Indonesian society.
